Yeah, you were holding out on the 'double' garage / shop thing! Cleaner than a lot of guys' kitchens!

I'm also looking for ideas on the tops for my work benches....sheetmetal or some type of smooth laminate.

A lot of machine tool guys like sheet metal; it can dent, if thin, but it's easy to clean oil off of it.

Laminate / Formica works well, but costs a bit, and requires some skill to lay flat. Good for woodworking, because sawdust wipes right off and most glues clean up off of it pretty easily.

Most of my work tables are just covered with high density particle board (double layer if it also serves as the structural top) with a couple of coats of water-based polyurethane. Cheap. Stable. Solid. Easy to replace if damaged, or I can fill with wood putty. I covered a few tables with tempered hardboard ('Masonite') as a replaceable wear surface, but have yet to replace them after ??? years.

Last weekend I was blowing mine off in the garbage can. I can put it down low with the bar off. Not too much flys back up. I need to remember to empty it more often because after a half dozen saws get blown off in there the risk of fly back into your face increases greatly. Warmer weather I just but it on an old stool and let it fly on the grass

Don't waste your money on anything else but one o' these. Best air nozzle on the planet. Has a built in regulator that lets you go from barely a whisper to flat out screamin' by how much trigger you apply. You'll need a 30~35 gallon compressor minimum as it uses quite a lot of air at 120psi to get the max velocity..., and you won't believe it's only 120psi. Has different wands available but comes with a 4" standard. Lightweight and rugged. When you're done cleanin' your saw you can use it to clean the floor. 'Bout $15 if you shop around.

The long reach ones are nice for cleaning saws.

Thanks, it was a huge selling point when we bought the house....40'×30' garage and 40'×12' addition that I turned into an additional woodworking type work shop.

I'm thinking a station with air for blowing and shop vac type shroud for gathering the debris.

Wow, nice bright shop, and I dig the plywood floor...my concrete slab shop puts me in a hurt locker fast.

Cleaning saws, you guys are funny...

I occasionally meet an arborist who knows what an air filter is

They normally wait till it stops running or gets run over by a truck

Hey, the dirtier they are, the more effectively they filter... I've had them get so effective that even oxygen molecules couldn't fit through!
