6.7 Cummins. I’ve had 05 and 07 duramax.

Of all of them the 7.3 has had the lowest cost of ownership when I factor repairs<odometer. In fairness, the 5.9 that I bought was plagued with the issues that were hidden. It cost me six grand to get that squared away, but since then it’s been fantastic. With diesels you’re going to pay at the tank and pay in the shop, but it’s a vehicle that you will have many years beyond when the payment stop.

was the 5.9 a 12 or 24V ?
the 5.9 12v was every bit the motor the 7.3 is/was ( pre smog schit)
also agree with your assessment BUT the 5.9 was a bit better on mileage. mechanical pumps are da best. a 5.9 or a duramax with proper fuel filtration will last an eternity. HPCR injectors don't like tiny bits of anything passing through them.

Most deisel trucks around me are owned by kids in high school, most never pull a thing. Diesel is costly, when you figure up maintenance and repairs unless your pulling/ hauling 3 days a week at minimum, there pointless. That's just fromfa cost anylassis point of view.

Piglets?

The problem with that is to many ass hats have bought diesels and messed it up for the guys that need them for working.

When i bought my f-550 i got a diesel for 2 reasons.

1 - i needed the torque.
2 - the price was right.

Other than that i could care less, i hate when i get fuel and some weiner with his blue collar halloween costume on wants to talk about my truck..i don't care...its not a fashion accessory.

I'm just messing wit cha. I seem to notice those trucks more as I get older...heck I remember running a 71 firebird with glass packs and the "old guys" looking at me stinky eyed....now I'm the "old guy"...so.

That's strictly a work truck.
Now if you went and put rockstar wheels with low profile tires then we'd have to reclassify ya.

I wouldn't mind a 550 dump bed one bit.

If I had a dollar for every time someone asked me while I was filling my truck up what chip or what mods i have done to my Cummins I could’ve bought a new one 2 years ago. They always looked stunned when I tell them nothing.....

Watch out who our calling an asshat Wayne. I’m on my 4th diesel and while I don’t work mine for a living when I do need to work it I have it. I won’t have a gasser for my truck ever again. We do a have a gas car and the wife’s suv is a gas but they also both have turbos which is a little dangerous as they are much quicker than you’d expect

I’m on number 14[emoji23]

You actually drive yours. My wife hates the fact I have an expensive truck just sitting in the garage collecting dust since I have a company vehicle and the puddle jumper Chevy Cruze. My last truck I owned 8 years and put 50k miles on it. My 17 ram I bought in March with 13k now has 18k on it. Ya I don’t drive it and call me a pretty boy all you want but I don’t care. When I need the truck it’s there and don’t need to question what I’m doing with it. I hate factory wheels so of course it’s going to get a better looking wheel but I out actual all terrain tires on it.

I used to be into the truck pulling big for street class. A lowly 650 HP truck in 2007 or so. Stock then sucked. These new trucks like the 17 F250 I have run great with their 445 HP. It always was nice to be able to top a 9% grade with 17 4x5 or a 4x4 cab tractor at or above the speed limit though[emoji23]

Mine was a year old in November and has 34,xxx on it. Just put these on it last week. My buddy used it to haul some hay and got stuck going downhill with the empty dual tandem. I hate the wheels on it and would really trade someone for a set of 17” steel wheels[emoji51]

I know what you mean ryan. My old neighbor has a 6” lifted half ton with 35 or 37 inch tires on 22 in wheel and he doesn’t own the tools to do anything but he did help me out my wheel on my truck when I got it and while he doesn’t own the tools to do those things he had no problem jumping in and helping me.
