I've heard of a few with good luck then you hear of some with really reaaaallly bad luck. Stock or juiced. I wondered if you were more progressive with your timing if it would help make it last. Dunno...

Yea I don't know Cobby, i know of them that have 200,000 with out issue when properly maintained... regular oil changes and fuel filters. A lot of the piston failure comes from a bad injector/injectors and that's usually results from fuel system neglect. I still believe IH cheapened them up knowing that it was the end of the Ford/IH marriage. They did seem to take care of the head gasket issues, but the last 6.0's were considerably better than the first though.

Not a fan of our 2002 Duramax. Did not enjoy changing the injectors three times. About a 7 to 8 hour job. Got rid of it with 240,000 miles and got another Ram.

Did you have to do the rear end at 100,000?

I've had fairly good luck with both of mine except for self inflicted stupid junk.

Dad's bulletproofed 6.0 F250 (an '03 model), has been phenomenal so far. My 7.3 is a darn good motor, but I'd rather drive the 6.0 any day over the 7.3 unless towing VERY heavy then it's a tie. It has its quirks, like all power plants but it's not going to be for sale... NOW, if it could have a common-rail injection system w/a CP3 pump, isntead of the dumb HEUI setup, it would be amazing... I wouldn't mind a Cummins in my 350 though.
