Question on dying plastic, do the stickers have to be removed first? Or will they not take the dye and you can leave them on? And does taping off parts work to keep the dye from changing parts?

Most sticker won't take the dye. You can tape off sections but you have to be perfect. I tried on a clear tank but the dye got in where the seams were.

If you want it to look nice the stickers should be replaced. The edges sort of take on a little bit of the dye and get kinda messed up looking. But if it doesn’t matter, it doesn’t matter
