The way to revive a dead Li-Po battery, without gambling, is to open the battery pack, and charge the cells individually.
The remote control guys, have rather advanced chargers these days, that are able to get them back to life.
If you're not using one of those advanced chargers, use another Li-Po cell in parallel to the dead cell, after confirming with a multi-meter, that the cell isn't shorted.
The RC guys also have Li-Po charging bags, which will largely contain a fire, if you run out of luck. They're like $10 directly from the little yellow people.

Yes both of the dead ones took a charge but they do not hold it a long time.
