Can all your saws just muscle through the chain brake? Mine will still turn like 6-8k rpm on the chain brake. Even just from a stop, I haven't tried engaging it while wfo.
No they are iffy some trip too easy
Some are spot on.
But they do work
I did disconnect one
I'm getting oem parts for.

The one i disconnected would trip at idle
I couldn't find a way to adjust it.
I run old saw's without brakes
But i like having them.

Got a friends 99 371 in today.
Handle crushed and the throttle cable was bad.
Not in terrible shape just run hard.
Someone butchered the muffler.
The exhaust cut through the top
Cover and chainbrake.
Replacing everything with huztl
Except a meteor piston
He wants.
The clones are identical to these of course.20180628_131223.jpg 20180628_151436.jpg 20180628_151016.jpg 20180628_172652.jpg 20180628_193836.jpg

You have had a lot of bad luck on yours, be patient, you will get it all working!! I had some issues with mine, but after some port work I am starting to like it more, need to cut some wood with mine!

@Tor R
What's your diagnosis
don't know how much he has done with his clone already Dave, but, carb, coil, coil distance, coil wire, impulse hose, etc etc.
As long she hold preasure&vacuum it should be possible to find the issue.

He's been thoroughly through it
What it's doing now
Is exactly what mine did
When my am coil failed.
I can't tell for sure though

A neon tester should show if the coil has issues, otherwise check for fuel starvation, like a kinked or cracked line, impulse too.

Wasnt the coil. It was a crank case leak. But the tester didnt find it. I slightly stripped one of the cylinder bolts when I put it back in the last time I guess. I helicoiled it, replaced the china gasket with an OEM one I got on clearance and honda bonded it last night. Tonight it runs great. I'll put it in wood this weekend hopefully. I also square filed the upstart chain.
