Them 2100 were built for torque not top end speed , but you can do some carb mods to tweak for more top end , couple of mine run very well
Agree. My 2101 is around 10,500 or so. I have to recheck, been years on the tune
But it's perfect where it is
But man those early ones
We're rich, and low. I remember guys plugging the governor. Mines got the unlimited tilotson.

If it were you would you leave the rpm alone? That makes sense what you mentioned. As like in diesels, low rpm high torque. But no high rpm.
My two bits, my 75cc 372 was a strong saw but it took forever to get up to speed. I had a buddy port it and while the high end is pretty much the same it gets up to speed much quicker. If I had a 3120 (or something similar) that's what I'd shoot for.

Hello Amigos. Any 3120 fans out there? I have one near mint, occasionally used. Wears a Canon 50" bar. I kick the idea of trading or selling it. But probably would regret it, as they are discontinued. Love it when bucking a big log, but yep heavy. In today's world, wonder how many run them?
Are you selling the 3120?? Can you pm me asking price?

9 tooth 404 is HUGE !!
Especially with a long bar
That 3120 took the 50 like it was walking in the park, starting on top and in the cut without lifting after full chews. One of my favorite saws to run
That's Awesome! It is huge. I knew some old school very skilled fallers, 2100 guys, said they ran 8 tooth and 9 in redwood. That was the first time I heard of 9. They ran it in other stuff too. But the faller I know use there worn .404 for fir, and newer chain in redwood
