Man wrestle exactly. After I put this thing down, it's only been short cuts or bucks. No ling runs. I feel like I just went the distance. Gives me a whole lot of respect for the men who paved the falling roads, and tree work before us. Having no choice but to run giant heavy saws. Man with the saws we have today I feel blessed.I put a 60" bar and chain on one a few years ago to stump a 7 1/2' Spruce for an arborist buddy - that was a lot of saw to wrestle around.
It took me about 40 minutes to make the two cuts - I had to take a break after.
Between all you guys in here, what's the max safe rpm out of a stock 3120? And stock I haven't looked into it, but can I adjust it higher?
Thanks, thought I heard some of that stuff. Buy wanted to be 100 percent sure. Definitely may be worth doing for me.You need to have the carb modified to have an adjustable H jet, if you want to run it up, but you'll also need an unlimited coil as well. As far as "safe rpm", I'm not sure, but I have mine tuned at 11,800 rpm.

Thanks Amigo. I may end up modifying. Does seem they kept em low stock like the 2100s. I wonder why, when they have far more capabilities. I noticed that between the 2100s. Anyone know did they detune them, to make parts last, saw last. Or they just figure safety like people can't handle the hp?Husqvarna lists it between 11,500 and 12,500 with peak horsepower generated at 9,000 RPM
Not all 3120's have an adjustable jet, most came fixed I believe and @Mastermind can take this subject farther than I can as he has messed with way more of them than I and is one the premier guys that modify them right.

Them 2100 were built for torque not top end speed , but you can do some carb mods to tweak for more top end , couple of mine run very wellThanks Amigo. I may end up modifying. If it were you would you leave the rpm alone? That makes sense what you mentioned. As like in diesels, low rpm high torque. But no high rpm. Those big saws are slower to keep the bottom end in them.
