Saw looks good, but please do me a favor, wear boots when you cut! Even if you are careful with the saw, sooner or later a round will end up on your foot, and those sneaks will not help! I ALWAYS have boots, gloves, eyes & ears. Just a good habit.
No chaps?

Chaps with sneakers!!!!! I'll take boots and long paints every day of the week over that! How do you keep the chips out of your shoes???? I always wear en extra long pair of paints over the boots to reduce the chips. Also, I never (again) saw with a hole in my paints, that can fill your boots real quick!

Some one recently gave me a pair, they were not around when I first started cutting, so I kinda got used to not having them. Plus, I'm not gonna wear em when I'm climbing around in the woods. Maybe I'll use em at the GTGs.

I usually wear canvas paints when I cut, they just seem a little thicker, and they are a bit long and have thigh pockets that are very useful for wedges, etc. In the cold I wear em over the jeans, in warmer weather I wear em instead.

Bought 2 pair of em a couple of years ago, no regrets.

You will HAVE to do some level of muff mod if you only have the two small slots in the outlet of the muffler. It just won't breathe enough to run well. Some mufflers had more openings. Probably as much as any saw out there, these are really choked down and opening them up a bit makes a significant difference in power output.
The Chinese replacement mufflers have more holes in them than the OEM mufflers do. Still doesn't hurt to file them out a bit..

They're open more than some of the 1127 mufflers and identical to others. The number of openings in the Stihl mufflers varies. Even with the four slots, that's not enough opening for this model to breathe.

Put together an MS390 today. Still missing the little boot that connects the air filter to the top of the carb but probably have one somewhere. I ran out of time but just about have it ready to cut wood. (I cut about 4 cookies with it so far). I sold the one I had last night. Still have a couple of 039s around too.
