My plan is to get a few of each model, and compile an avg max hp/tq for the model, on my dyno.

Then if anyone wants to send saws in, that will be the baseline to compare against.

Still work if someone wants a before/after run done for your own port work etc.

I put 5 hours on this thing today. Very very repeatable readings. Even hours apart.

That 660 within .1hp from book rating was really nice to see.

Sounds like a solid approach. The 7910 is still stock.

Well been holding out.

Finally got tired of cutting wood.

Wanted to share my new tool with the class.

First few runs after getting everything all calibrated.

This has a built in weather station, to keep track of temp/humidity.

Those are the sae corrected numbers. Very close to the 660 book specs.

Last week's project making the "bench" and jackshaft.

This is a 30hp rated waterbrake, 17k rpm

Have A 2:1 reduction. Helps smooth out the runs with low tq saws.

Adjustable power head rest with a thick rubber cushion.

Designed it to work with Any power head I could think of. Even raise up enough for belly pipes.

If it can run a std 3/8×7 rim I can run it on the dyno.

Thoughts?

Game changer right there. Just awesome, nice work!!

That is next generation cool right there Joe.View attachment 239262 Saw this on a Cub Cadet website.

Yep, not much different that that. This uses water. So nothing ever heats up causing fluctuations.

Unless we stsrt pushing the 30hp limit... But i don't think many chainsaws will make it to 20hp on gasoline.

I need a saw that can run/idle for at least a few minutes to make a pull. Each pull is 10-20 seconds worth.

Could load a saw until it ran out of fuel if needed, just like milling situations.

That would be the perfect way to figure out the right combination for a milling saw.

Yessir, very versatile tool.

I don't have the time or desire to make race chains, Learn the technique. Firewood is almost a stretch

But I do want to build the best engine's I possibly can. Really tune them to the end user.

Race, woods, mill, wall hanger etc.

Going to be a fun adventure for sure.
