Must be 281 time...picked up this one today! Now I have to start at the beginning and read this whole thread!

When I got this saw one of the first things I noticed was it was missing the 2 front rubber av mounts, I'd just assumed the previous owner had used them to keep his other 281 going.
The day I ordered new ones I read that not all 281 had them when they had the front spring mount.
Live and learn, still learning a lot.

Won't hurt to put them in, for that matter it will help to stiffen the saw up a little.
Great score Dale. That's probably about as close as you can get to a vstack.I got a blue top air filter adapter from a fellow member. I was so excited I found one that I forgot to ask if he had the air filter to fit. It turns out he does and will be in the mail soon.

I agree Mike. And a big K&N filter still fits under a hi top cover
Thats a nice looking saw. Man I love the blue tops
Lmao high top ftw.Just to harass a couple Mike's on here.....low top FTW!!!

Paint with flex added in might be a option.Powder would melt the plastic cover, dye really doesn't work that great except for black
