The black rubber piece is sealing the metal ring, not inside the brown dust shield. But I don’t remember which side of the rubber ring goes.

That looks better. Does the drum seat ok?
Nope still the same ...
I think the black dust seal goes behind the drown plastic cover instead of inside of it as srcarr52 said .
I have to change it yet but I don't think that's going to matter because the drum only goes in as far as the worm gear either way .
I really think the AM drum/clutch is to big .

Bummer. Get measurements. I’ll measure what I have here.
I wonder if you need a 54 02 as shown in that schematic.
Might need to modify that drum with a grinder

Looks like an Ore 22132 drum

No 2101 clutch drum! Way bigger than the 288s.
But you can order 395s they are the same. Actually my 2101 use 395 clutch and drum cuz someone burn up the original one.

I bough THIS item and its the 395s size which would fit 288 and it comes with the old style dust shield.
But I dont know if the #22132 is the same dia as the 28094X.

181/281/288/285/394/395/298/1100/2100/2101 all use the same clutch drum and can even use the same clutch.
Nope from factory. 2100’s is bigger from factory but you can fit 288’s on it. Clutch part number is 1 digit away.

Well I tried grinding the drum down but it still hits the cover .
I took it down so the drum and clutch are flush on the outside when installed.
An overall measurement on mine is 35mm side to side
If someone can give me a measurement of there drum I'd know for sure this one isn't rite and I can find the correct one .
Thanks
Ernie
