More on this project - I got Dave's recoil fitted up - It's faded but solid and the weathering matches the airbox.

I'll polish them up later with a little 30-weight non-detergent motor oil. I got a couple of kill switch wires made up too.

I wanted to show you guys some detail on the fuel tank vents - I prefer the older style, a black plastic tube with a small, white, sintered plastic insert. It uses a
larger sintered plastic insert that goes in the tank (many modern Huskies use the larger insert in their vent systems). The reason I like this set-up is that it lasts
a long time and resists vibration well.

The more modern set-up is a white plastic tube that uses a sintered brass insert and then a green plastic extension, and a green plastic elbow. A rubber vent
line would then be connected to the elbow and run up into the airbox area. The problem with this setup is that over time, vibration wears the green plastic
pieces to the point where they won't stay together anymore. I've tried sealing the worn pieces together with shoe-goo but that's a temporary fix. Plus the
sintered brass plug starts to leak and then the vent is junk.

I had a scrappy old half-wrap handle I've put on the saw for now. It has a used full-wrap with it but the full-wrap got clobbered at some point
and now doesn't mount very well to the saw. I'll see about getting Dave set-up with a better handle. If all goes well, I should be able to test this
tomorrow night.

One thing I do to keep that old vent large white puck in place is just touch the orange plastic around it with my soldering iron ...just to give the tank a tad more grip on the puck. Nothing too crazy don't want to wreck the tank.

Nice build jj :)
