I need to make some progress on some of my projects. I figured starting a thread might give me some answers for the things I'm unsure about, and keep me accountable to move forward.

Saw on right (#5) is a good runner, fair compression.

First project is to make 1 Saw out of #1 and #4 (handle/tank only shown in first pic) #1 was a ugly but good running Saw, first 064 I bought. Crankcase has been broken and repaired, and handle is rough, top handle is bent, but I really liked the way it felt and handled. It came to an end while limbing one day, and dealer told me it was rod bearing, so I'll put the top end from that on the crankcase from #4.

So now I need to split and clean that.

I got a splitting tool, so I think I have that part handled, but removing and reinstalling bearings and seals I feel I need support on. Thinking of taking crankcase and some other parts to self serve carwash for a pressure wash with soap. Cleaning saw parts is a biotch.

So I haven't asked any questions just yet, but trust me, I have them.

If it already looks like I'm doing something wrong let me know.

Nice saws! Good plan of action to get some runners. If you have any leftovers after your builds, shoot me a pm.

For installing bearings— I use heat. Use an oil pump as a stop on the pto side. I pull the crank through with Mattyo’s tools, but did it for years using heat/chill method with longer case screws.
