I guess I could go 18” on the 60cc, 20” on stock 2165/71 and 24” on ported 2165/71’s, saves a lot of changing bars. The new to me stock 2171 with 24”bar in ash.

That is odd I thought the 562 would be quicker, as the diameter of the log increases I guess more torque from the 365 is better. My 562 was quicker in smaller 14” ash than the stock 2165 and ran with the ported 2165.

I hope you didn’t get bit by a rabid beaver... cause it looks like you are turning into one there...
My neighbour built his storage shed too close to the property line and there was one ash tree leaning toward it I “had to remove”, so f**k it, if I’m taking one down I’m taking them all....

All good saws. I tend to prefer a good 046/460 over the others though. They usually tend to have a more forgiving power/torque curve. Comes down to personal preference though. You can port any of them to have torque or rpms... or whatever you want. This particular hybrid was actually very torquey, unlike some of the others I have ran.

I will say that the max flo is a big difference in not just power... but use ability on these 1128’s working them everyday. So that is something that should be taken into account when watching the above video. One had the max flo... the others had either a metal mesh, HD or HD2. Different fuels were used. Lots of variables to consider even though the same chain was used. I would not put faith in the above video as a scientific comparison... more rather as a general rough idea of how they perform.

But it’s so ugly [emoji23] stihl should have made their own better filter setup and they would have sold one for every 2 saws sold probably.

A logger is working on a clearing/thinning project next door. Feller buncher, skidder, log truck, trailer, etc. Noticed that he's running a stock 562xp as a landing saw for white oak 12-24" dia. Sounded like it was cutting @ high rpm's, no bogging. The guy running it was no lightweight, I'd guess 5'-10" 200 lbs. There you go.

Thanks for that. You’ve got me sold, and just as the dolmar/kita fans have me sold on 6100. I’m feeling like it’s a win-win decision at this point. And then those Jreds sneak into the back of my brain...

My 562 is such a pita to get started, tried every which way. The ported 2159 takes a few pulls cold but fires up every time on one pull when warm. The damn 562 pull, pull, pull......maybe 10-12 times won’t go. Let it sit for a while and maybe it will fire. Runs good but won’t out cut the ‘59

Try hitting the primer button a few times when this happens. Should take care of it and won't hurt anything by trying.

Vapor locking. It’s why I’ve swore off of 562’s for summer use and use the 572 as it copes with heat much better. Not that much bigger and much more torque anyway.

I read a lot about vapour lock, sounds exactly what it is.
The next time you run it good and get it hot, feel the temperature of the handlebar on the pto side. Notice how hot it is? That is transferring that heat directly to the fuel tank that it is bolted to. Mine was just about boiling the gas in the tank. A design flaw they tried to fix on the new generation saws with a air baffle to push the air away from the handle.
