Mike looks like you got a lot of firewood there! Couple cords at least?

I think the load of logs will generally give me 6 or 7 cord if I don't mill much of it.

They are 19' long.

Cool. Like I said it was an honest question, different people have different preferences. I owned a 562 for a short period of time, never used it logging, just for some firesmart programs. I pretty much only use 70+cc saws and 28” bar at the shortest for everything, again it’s just what I got used to and prefer. No right or wrong to what a guy will use as long as it all works for what you’re doing.
How did you like your brief time with the 562 for fuels reduction?

Do people actually use 60cc saws for production cutting? I’m sure it’s possible but I’ve never used one and I don’t recall ever seeing anyone around here using one. This is an honest question, I’m sure different industries call for different tools.
I used a ported cs2260 and a 24" reduced weight total to harvest softwoods in the 20-24" range often. Light flickable package, snappy throttle response for limbing and plenty of power if you arent too greedy with the gullets and rakers.

I couldn’t give a very accurate review of how the 562 runs. Mine was a lemon from the start and I had nothing but issues with it, I felt like smashing it against a tree most days. I didn’t use it for very long, ended up with a 462 for my lighter saw.

Did you do any videos of these two in stock form to compare?
Stock 372 Xtorq.... 34.77 seconds.
Stock 572xp.... 29.12 seconds.
Yeah... wasn’t wearing PPE in these videos... at my own risk. Was only making a couple cookie cuts on a stationary log. I don’t go into the woods logging without PPE.

But you didn’t compare them in the same log etc? I read an article from simionan saw shop where he tested the 572 and said no noticeable gains with a muffler mod

I did test, just thought you wanted to see stock 572 vs stock 372. There is a gain. Not a big one... but it is noticeable.
Muffler modded 572xp... 27.95 seconds. Same log and same chain as the stock saw in my prior post... which did it in 29.12 seconds.

That’s what I was after
It was a fairly mild muffler mod, screens still in. The top hole under the deflector is large. The inside baffle on the exhaust inlet side is the main restriction. Grind a hole through that and you’ll see daylight through the top deflector hole.

Did it make it a lot louder?

Just got my new 562xp yesterday, ran it today. 20" with a fresh loop of exl was impressive. Buried it in some 40" oak w/out any trouble. As long as it doesn't give me any hot start issues this summer up in the trees I'll be very happy. It averages 85-90 degrees w/ pretty high humidity so it will get put to the test.
