Seems like we are just gonna have to wait and see how these new saws pan out, for me price is always a concern, to me paying over a $1000 for a 71cc saw is just ubsurd, long as I can rebuild saws I just can't see myself spending like that, I wanna see these saws ran against the tried and true 71cc saws (372 and MS440), stock and ported versions, with same bar, off the roll chain and same wood. That's the real test for these saws to me. Are they really worth more?

Agreed. I sure aint gonna be one of the first to buy either one. Gonna wait and watch and make an informed decision.

Got a couple in yesterday.

Had a discussion with the Husky dealer today. He claims the X-Cut chain and X-Force bar will be the standard bar/chain setup offered with the 572.

I don't know about that guy. I'm gonna call another Husky dealer and see what they are saying.

Our catalog shows the 572 with a replaceable tip bar, but it's not the X-Force.

Course it does… on the business side it makes sense. You can’t replace the tip you have to buy new bar, more money in their pocket, conversely for the consumer It doesn’t make sense.

Gave my other guy a call and he Echo-ed the X-Force claim. At least here in the EU, the X-Force bar will be standard.

You guys are funny complaining about the cost of a new saw. I’m guessing the 044 and 372 when they came out were about $600. Gas prices have also tripled, your home value is up about 25%, I bet you make 20-30% more per hour, candy bars cost $.35, a six pack was $2.99 since that time. I also bet there was lots of complaints about this new fangled 3xx series saw. Doubt many of you are cruising around missing the days of crank windows. Now the smoker window I do miss.

Will get some time this weekend to put this saw to work.

You’re getting paid by the wrong people if you don’t keep increasing. I hate it because everything goes up and the dollar is worth less but I cannot stop that. All I can do is ride the wave.

$8.30 in Ohio, but I believe federal minimum wage is just over $7

In the early 90's my dad was making $25 hr. Today I would be hard pressed to find a job that pays that around here.

Paid just under 500 for my 372 in 04.

Don't mind crank windows, especially when you only have two of them.

$7.25/HR is minimum wage. My Father was making $28/HR in 2008 before the crash. Afterwards he had to take a 48 percent pay cut and go to night shift to keep a job. I have never made even half as much.

Long as you have the rubber grommet on the carb I don't find it to be a problem, but if it missing, it's like hoping and poking.

Mason, wages have changed quite a bit over the years, the changes just are not linier. When I was a teenager minimum wage was $1.65 an hour, and that is what I worked for. My first job in my field, which required a 4 year college degree and was located (I had to commute) in NYC, in Dec 1975, paid a salary of $11,200/year. It was pathetic!

Pool games cost a quarter, as did a quart of milk (and refrigerated milk machines were everywhere) and McDonalds advertised change back from your dollar when you purchased a burger, fries and a soft drink.
