One not so happy item to report is that those "too low to believe it" prices on the 565 were mistakes that have been corrected upwards. WAY up.

When I first saw them there were priced the same as the 365, and had that held, we would be able to sell a 565 for $200 less than the 572. But as it looks now, they will only be about $60 less than the 572. Sort of turns it from a great deal to a dud.
Kind of a shame really, the 565 will be a hard sell at only $60 less than the super-sport XP. I like many others quite like the 555 or 365 as they represented good value. I bet Husky re-thinks their pricing on the 565 when the distributer warehouse section of 565's starts resembling a storage facility. Time will tell. You will cringe at this here new MSRP for the 565 $1499 & 572xp $1949!!! Well here all saw OEM's 'charge like a wounded bull' but Husky AU is offering the saw about 25% less for the non XP.

Generally, I think Husky is doing a little tricky marketing here that may work in certain places, and backfire in others. If you look at Husky's advertising here, you will see the 572, and then notice all of the previous versions of the AT and pro saws are being rejuvenated as cheaper alternatives to the 572. When in reality, they aren't cheap at all. The 372 is still just 84 bucks cheaper than the 572, and they are advertising the 560 as being on sale for 100EU less than the 572.

I picked up this "Winter Sales" flyer at one of my Husky dealers on Friday. The 572 doesn't look like such a bad price after looking at their older model prices.

I'm sure happy I have another dealer that gives me real 'sales' prices....

I take it you don’t buy Stihl saws then.
Buying a new stihl saw is...an expensive proposition. Selling saws that have been out for a long time at a still high price is ridiculous. 461 is 1100 before tax, 372 is around 650 for me. Probably why stihls popularity is dwindling here.

Is the 461 400$ better than the 372? It’s a good saw, but not that much better IMO. Might as well spend the extra 100$ and get a 661 if your looking at a 461... if the mtronic doesn’t bother ya. Just my 2 cents.

They list the 461 at 1089 for 25” bar and the 661 at 1200 and change same bar. They marking it up where your at? View attachment 146454
Last time I was in the shop the tag on a 661 was something like 1359.00. They also refuse to wiggle on any prices for stihl or i would have bought my daddy a new 261 for his birthday.

For a guy like me who buys a saw and may keep it for a lifetime, the price increase may be worth it, but for a business that has to buy/replace on a regular basis, paying the extra would give me pause. IMO, they are both good saws.

When 441s were not available, many dealers had the 461s in the $800-900 range, and 441s are less than $1,000.

For some, the M Tronic may be an advantage. For example, I recently took a trip up to my cabin, it is approx. 2,000 ft elevation. My home is about 500', so I brought my 2 M Tronic saws, no re tuning necessary! It can be a big advantage.

Either one doesn't bother me. Takes only a few seconds to retune

I have cut on days when it started in the 20s and ended up over 60. I much prefer just working, and not keeping a screw driver in my pocket and stopping and re tuning. Some of my saws are much more sensitive to this than others, but you know what I'm saying.

Just finding the screw head with the screw driver on some of them (when running) can be a PITA.

The new AT-3 (? I think its 3) on the 572 samples and tunes ten times faster than the old AT. They also mention in the promo literature the 572 has 'soft cut-out system' that protects the saw from over revving. Not sure if that's a fancy term for rev limited ignition or something completely different. For the US customers who run long bars on 70cc saws, the 572 should do this well compared to older designs. For me though, I like a 20" B/C with occaisional use of a 24"/25".

That last sentence is so true. My 261/262 is the most pain in the ass. I have to shut it off just to find the screw
