I'm thinking about getting a 562 and was a little disappointed about how close in weight it is to a 372, according to this chart there is only .3lbs. Are these weights correct? I've also see it said that the 562 weighs 11.8lbs. With only .3lbs difference between it and a 372 I'm finding it hard to convince myself that I need one. I'm only going to be running a 18" bar, would money be better spent getting a 346 ported for a 18" bar? I already have a couple of 2152's and a new 346 top end on the shelf.

What are you gonna do with the 18" bar?

I like 18" .325 on 346s, both ported and stock. It's a nice setup for cutting small stuff, but I don't really like .325 for a saw that mostly is bucking firewood. I prefer 3/8 for that because it stays sharp longer and cuts as fast or faster. Longer chain life overall also. If you want to run 3/8 and an 18" bar, a ported 346 would definitely do the trick, but if you're gonna be burying the bar in hardwood all day, it might not be the best option.

Maybe I should take down that 2159 and have it ported.

What I'd like is something light and be fun to run even when a 18 " bar is buried in oak, for the least amount of money.

562, 3/2159, 357/2156, all hard to beat for a 20" bar saw after some modding. Mike built some strong ones for sure. Still haven't used a stock saw that gave me the holy *s-word's like 562 did.

361 is decent too. Great manners and a lot of power. Could change my mind in the class if I ever try a ported one.

I sent him a message but it looks like he hasn't been on here since last year.
