The 4910 I did was a year ago and I think it was a couple years old (still new in box). Maybe they are now coming less detuned?
I’m not certain. I tried 6° in the first couple and they popped and snorted like crazy. Started leaving them stock

The CS-4910 is $379.95 with an 18" bar and the CS-501P is $499.95 with an 18" bar so $120.00 between the two. They do the same thing with the CS-590 "Timberwolf" at 399.99 vs. the CS-620P at $599.99 both with 20" bars. No "Mid Range" version of the CS-7310 that I have heard of, yet...

And I certainly hope Shindaiwa doesn't go the way of the Dodo, we feature it pretty heavily and they are very popular with landscapers in this area.
What are the main differences between the 590 and the 620?

Good question, while I don't have a definitive answer with specs and stuff, I can offer my opinion from my experience.
To put it one way, once ported the 261 catches up quite well. To put it another, you won't notice a lot of improvement on the 550 until you stuff it in a big ol' nasty log, then the wow factor comes out to shine. Not sure that really answers your question though. For me, I'll take the 550 if given the choice, if that helps.

O it definitely answers the question Steve.

Exhaust roof set correctly, blow down numbers matching the exhaust roof, and squish band complements all of them.

Them three amigos were ripping away at a nasty drier that dry, knotty old log log.

Entire 20" bar hidden in the log, square cut chain, and no complaints.

By tank #7, side plate and top plate were laid back more aggressively than your standard set up.

Even virtual Mike was doing jumping jacks

Just unbelievable what the pros can do with these saws.
