Was the 462 the saw that needed the screws in the crank case ground down if no gasket is used? Could it be developing a leak at high temps?

Think I found my issue. Anybody have a part number for the fuel line, does it cross over to any other saws ? Out of all the dealers around me, probably 10 of them in a 20 mile radius, none of them stock pro saws. Think I may have seen one 362 one time. They all look at you crazy when you go in and ask about anything bigger than a 291.

0.145 squish is still too tight, even by my standards and I’ve been known to run 0.016 in 90cc saws.

Beer or soda can is 5-6 thousandths thick

I dont disagree. Not sure how I measured .019 when I took the gasket out originally. Thinking back I believe I checked it before pulling the gasket and it was .034

When I pulled the gasket the gasket measured .015 so I think I just ran with it. Never checked it again until here recently. I've got a notebook in my shop that I use for maintenance records/notes for most of my equipment and toys. Should have noted that one.

I have the means to cut the base on my lathe I guess I just need to tear it down and do it. How do those of you that work on the 462's trim that lip off the base after cutting the base on the lathe, freehand it with a die grinder/dremel?
