Spark screens aren't mandatory everywhere here because it's always ruddy raining this side of the pond :paraguas::paraguas:

Like Corey, I have mud daubbers as well so I would want to keep a screen. I agree that it appears the outer cover is there to hold the screen. Anyone weigh the removed components?

Still having a double skin stainless steel muffler after doing the cat removal gets my vote. Neat , flush fitting ,without snags , robust .

Also won't discolor as much either.

Gonna have to dig into mine soon
My 361 is also in need of a mm
Did one on my 361 a while back ...bit tricky if you want to keep the standard backward facing hole and open it out due to the deflector ,but its doable .

I am not a huge advocate on muffler mods but I also think most motors where designed to breath.
The 421 wakes up respectably with a MM and I think worth the warranty risk. I mean it is not like it is a *********** ***
That has a thread every other week with problems.

Well I can definitely feel the heat from the cat on the 421 so I feel it's a good idea to get that out of there.
The 361 has has 10 years to break in so I don't mind opening it up a bit to let it breath

So @CoeryB, now that you have mm'd it and run it some, are you happy, sad, or too early to tell about your purchase?
I took it out most of the afternoon/ evening and it is definitely a keeper. I see a lot of wood being cut in the coming weeks.

I would have put money on you would keep it , now the next stage is trying out all those different chain types and sprockets

I agree the 6100 is not going anywhere anytime soon. I would love to try a 6400 and 7900. Actually no.... no I wouldn't!
Then I would probably want them as well.
Considering that You own a PS-6100 You wouldn't be craving a PS-6400.
But do give a PS-7900 a try, You'll be actively looking to purchase one afterwards. ;)

I got to play with my PS-6400 & PS-7900 yesterday, bucked beech tree firewood logs - the PS-7900 is just mean, in a pleasurable good way.

My PS-7900 vapor locked once on me yesterday - an quite annoying issue.

Good to hear. Figured you would like it but some people just don't warm up to this size saw.
Now I just need to get the muffler gutted on mine
