What is the value of a 390XPG used? Supposedly "like new"

Trying to find a saw for a backup saw and obviously winter use when the hands are cold..

Thanks

This is all I got for a picture..
If you can communicate with the seller, see if they will send you a picture of the piston (remove the muffler and look through the exhaust). The saw can look pretty on the outside and be all sorts of FUBAR on the inside.

If you do not mind the electronics you can get a new 592XPG from Bruce

I've seen that. I'd rather stick with an old-school adjustable carb. I did locate a member on FB that builds 585s into "XPG." He does ask enough for them, and I get it; the saw is around 1050, then I don't know, 250 or 300 in parts? So it adds up.

That’s neat. Always wondered about that. Or a 585 carb set up on a 592xpg. But like you said the money adds up fast.

I want to say most of the parts are the same. I was told you can throw a 592 top end on a 585, so there's that. I thought about doing all that, but then you're spending maybe 1700 or 1800 for a 592XPG carb saw.

I thought I saw somewhere someone did throw a 585 carb on a 592?? I don't remember if the flywheel or coil had to be changed. Maybe just the coil? All I remember was seeing a video of this guy drilling into the side of the case for the three carb screws. It was either on Facebook or YouTube.

Both are probably possible. But it would be a labor of love. Definitely doesn’t make much financial sense.
