Dedicated B&C oil is a hoax/scam for the masses to milk $$$ off.

Nuff said!

Suit Yourself!
Mooo?

(I usually pay $8 / gallon, or less. That’s about 3X what milk goes for here.)

If it’s refined, used, oil, that OK. As long as they are doing the refining, and get the bad stuff out. I don’t want to run a small refinery in my basement or garage.

I did post "Suit Yourselves!"

I don't pay a single dime for "my B&C oil of choice" and I am running the OEM factory supplied laminate Dolmar branded Oregon bar on my 2006. purchased PS-6400 which has been my main workhorse.

In Croatia so called dedicated B&C oil goes for 15-20€ a gallon.

But, hey - nevermind me, I am stupid as Fck irregardless of being a mechanic at trade.

Good luck, have fun, stay safe!!! 🍻
Have another drink.

Won't that kill oil pumps if done on regular basis?
Or was it something you did, once in a blue moon?
Here it's around -15F a large part of the year, hence the canola oil / isoprpyl mix, based on the assumption that oil too thick to get out of the fueler, won't do much better in the saw, but it's nothing I can claim to have tested long term.
Never saw temps at -15F for a large part of the year like you, northern Wisconsin back then we used to get about a month Jan/Feb straight that had nighttime lows of -20/30 never got above 0F for daytime highs rest of the winter was just regular cold -10F to+30F . generally tried to put bar oil on truck floor boards next to the floor heater on way to jobsite quick disconnects on heater hoses from woods truck to skidder hooked up in the morning and by the time you fueled and greased the skidder the engine would be warmed up enough to start fairly easy and bar oil was mostly pourable.

As long as it's Stihl Ultra you're ok
Used to buy Itasca bar and chain oil for $3.99 a gallon or $150 for a 55 gallon drum have not seen it in years now and no longer cut enough to warrant 55 gallon drums.

Now buy County Line at TSC normal price $6.99/7.99 or sale $4.99/5.99

In a pinch Fleet Farm Loggers Choice or Mystik $9.99

Last time I looked Stihl was like $20-30 might be better but not 3-4-5 times better. IMHO

Sorry but not about keeping my rant going.
I am slowing down and might use 25-40 gallons of bar oil per year now.
Best case scenario 40 gallons per year at $4.99=$200 vs Stihl at $30=$1200
Last new saw I bought around July was a stock 572XPG at $1049 with 24" b&c

Others might see it differently and that is fine with me!
I see me more jack in my Jeans or one new FREE saw every year complete with brand new oil pump.:aplastao:
