I'm liking this thread lots of good info as always. I'm looking for a 390 project right now while my brother is building his 394. He keeps telling me to build a 394 and forget the 390 for now. But I'm just as stubborn as him so 390 it is...lol.

My dry pho 394

Wow, over a pound difference between our scales. Anything about the 395 that makes it heavier than a 394? I weighed mine with the big spikes, but who knows how accurate the scale is.

I never had a 390 show that light on my scales. They were always around 17. Being on the low end of a scale doesn't help. There's a good 1.5 lbs between them.
Mike for noodling what would be your pick and setup? 390, 394, or 395?

390 clears noodles best
U know when I got my 390 I was expecting it to be a very fast blocking machine with 3/8 which it is but when I noodled I wasnt so impressed. I was shocked when I added 404 and tried it as it pulls all the usuable torque out of that thing!

Yep. A half wrap 7900 clears good. A stihl with a cut cover does about the best.
