Jason- I for 1 would be interested in a comparison from somebody with your expertise. All the porters I've talked to won't touch an aftermarket cylinder and it would be good to see how this one stacked up to OEM. Besides that its bound to be cheaper. ;)

With the new prices on Husqvarna cylinders not always, a 346 XP top end is $101.86, the Meteor top ends were ~$150.00 but I haven't checked them in a while so they may have came down.

I think the problem that most builders have with AM cylinders is not that you can't find a good one sometimes, it is more a lack of consistency and quality control. If they have to do something different every time they port a saw, it is not worth while.

OEM provides the best consistency.

I don't port aftermarket cylinders either, this is my cylinders and my saws, the beauty of this aftermarket cylinder is the thick base,a oem 064 cylinder is very thin and limits what can be done as far as different crown heights etc. Etc.

I meant as a replacement to OEM , wasnt insinuating that anyone would port them. I can tell a good port from a bad port but as far as the numbers and where they sit I dont have a clue. If its OEM quality at AM prices, thats a good thing in my book. Especially the cylinders that are getting harder to find.

If it can effectively replace the oem 064 cylinder it would be a huge game changer,I have mahle and ks cylinders to compare it to just no time to do it.

Hopefully next week I can get a chance to do it and a thread.

There is a tillotson replacement now for the 372 series. I think it's called x change series or something like that. They make one for the 361 and a few other stihls. If tillotson is available that's my choice.

Good to know Mike. I saw a Tilly carb on eBay when I bought a new HD12. Pretty sure the price was reasonable.
