Hi there all
Recently built a 372xp that was laid up for mabe 3 year?

First timer here for building may i add

Where do i start

Got it all cleaned down. There was a pacme p&c in is. Badly scored so i ordered a hyway big bore for it.
Had my buddy build it for me. He works in husky dealer.. Crankcase was in bad condition so got a replacement. Done all bearings/ seals / gaskets. What it needed it got.. ended up putin new walbro carb too cos other one was f@#$ed
Ran perfect for 1 tank. On second tank it locked up☹
Piston scored. Cylinder was ok just tidied it up.
Got a pop up piston hyway. Went great for half tank then started dyin in the cut or under pressure in a cut especially on full throttle.
Started to seize b4 i switched it off..
Took apart plating on cylinder chiped
So i pressuee/ vac tested it. It failed both..
Found leak on intake booth replaced it.
Ordered a hutzl p&c put it in. It past pressure and vac. Reset carb to 1 1/2 turns on both started it runs fine. Put it in wood and its bogging and cutting out again..
Is it carb tuning? Or what? Im loosing my patience any help greaty appreciated
Thanks
Jason

It may need a carb adjustment if you guys used the new carb out-of-the box as is. They're tuned pretty lean from Walbro.

If it's one with limiter caps then you may to pull the caps with a sheet metal screw.

Is the impulse line good? Fuel line and filter good?

It could be like cuinrearview said or it could be as simple as adjusting the carb, if you left it at 1 1/2 turns out it could be to rich.

Starting point for the 372 is 1 turn out, then tune it.

Evidently it passed a vacuum test according to the OP.

You could still have an air leak. The lack of power could also be the top end of China. They suck at a pretty high percentage.
I built a 660 farmertec after this and hav had zero issues wit it. Cuts like a dream so far

No porting done. I polished any imperfections on the hutzl cylinder but no change to transfers or intake or exhaust wasnt widened
