I’ve been doing some reading on crank bearings. What is the difference between a 6202 bearing and a 6202 c3 vg104. From what I’ve been able to find they are the same. What’s yalls opinions/thoughts on these

Crank bearings must be C3 rated which are a deep groove bearing. If you go with nachi or skf brand c3's you'll be safe. Don't worry about the ZZ or 2nse suffix because that's the seal designation and you won't be needing those anyway.

At least this is how I've come to understand it.... I'm sure some bearing guru/ expert will be along to correct me..

I bought some NACHI 6202 open c3 for the 372 build.
They'll work just fine. I try to buy in large quantities and look for the best deal regardless of seal type or no seal at all for that matter. Takes two seconds to remove them. Just something to keep in mind for the future.

I can get these locally from a parts house. I get em for 9$ each. That was last two NACHI he had till he orders more. He also carries skf explorers. I wanted to try the nachis in this saw.

I gave up on skf. I tore down a locked up 2014 372 xtorq. Skf explorer bearings were shot. Not sure if it was the 50-1 oil mix or what. But it soured my opinion of them.

Ebay nachi bearings are about $4-5 so that's all I'm using for now.

I like these NOS ones. Metal cages, not plastic.... they're in my high strung 371 so far so good.

I don't remember if the nachis have the metal retainer or not, but the skf explorers were plastic. Pros and cons to each. Metal may be tougher, but when a piece breaks off, it's a bit more destructive. So I guess I don't have a preference there, just as long as it's a good bearing

The nachis I got are all metal. Some of his bearings are older stock
