I run picco on my top handle saws and want to standardize my chain, I have no need to have one odd ball saw that runs .325
Well that's a point I suppose .Then again it might do to just get more saws that run .325 .Alas I gave up on that "standardization " stuff years ago because I have them from 1/4" to 1/2" chain size .Before too long you end up with lots of bars, lots of loops and lots of bulk chain not to mention lots of rims.spurs etc .Of course then lots of saws .Some that run ,some that used to at one time .

I have a Solo 642 (new iteration) which is a 40cc saw built on the 35cc chassis (larger bore). Its' listed weight is just over 9 pounds. With a 16" bar it is just the handiest thing for doing work within its parameters. I originally bought it to take up in the trees after the 200t was done its' work. When I bought it I bought a couple of extra spur drums. I suppose I could TIG weld and re-profile the spurs if they get worn.

I have a stand of Eastern white pine on my property up in the mountains. It is very dense and there is a large number of dead standing trees. When I looked at it this past Fall it looked like a lot of fuel if there was a lightning strike. This Spring I want to pull out all the dead trees and cut them up. They range in size from wrist size to 5 or 6 inches. Dead EWP cuts like butter. I'll use the 642 and the Echo 500P.

One of the simple joys in life that my wife and I enjoy is sitting out under the stars with a fire in the fire pit. We love to burn the pine in the pit. My wife does get nervous when the coyotes start yelping too close. I just throw some pine on the fire.

Interested, I need a new drum and Lo-pro setup for my 024 super

Where'd you get that piece of crap Deets?

I have a standard splined non-pro Clutch drum that will fit your saw if you need it Deets. You're a day late on that one ;)

When I get my current 260 project right, it's getting a Picco 7T with PS chain and a 16" bar.

I'll have to go out and look at my 200t. Is the Stihl Picco sprocket 7 tooth?

Sooooo I can run a rim setup for lp on a 421? What all parts do I need. I am fOK with drum but would rather have a rim.
Yes you can. My spur drum was getting wore( I have 50-60.tanks through this saw). That is a 510/5105 drum with a washer spacer behind it.fordf150 I believe has the whole setup.

3/8 is still 3/8

That's just part of the equation - the LP rim needs to be larger than the regular, to compensate for the lower chassis of the LP chain. The pitch is measured at the rivet centers, not where the chain contacts the rim.
Running LP chain on a regular 3/8" rim is about like running it on a rim that is worn well past its recommended "life".

Also, the true pitch is about .366, - not .375, or exactly 3/8". This goes for both regular and LP/Picco.

I and one other supplier will have stihl p7 rims in small spline. Start a list and we will see how they go.

How did that happen? It is hard to believe that Stihl will offer rims for the small 7-spline?

You should have one or a EU 420 :pesas:

A hardware store chain sold them cheap here for a while, but I didn't bite, wasn't even tempted.

Apart from that, the only way to buy Dolmar saws in Norway is to order them from Makita. There is no dealer network.
