Is Stihl the only one to have a replaceable sprocket for 3/8 LP? Seems Oregon is missing the boat unless they have an agreement with Stihl. Seems like there are a lot of arborists and tree service people that would appreciate this.
As an aside to this I think there is definitely a place for a 40cc or so professional grade saw that is light weight. A 9 or so pound 40cc saw can be extremely useful. A 10 pound plus 40cc saw is approaching the point of diminishing returns , compared to 50cc saws, except for perhaps fuel consumption.

All I will say. This is wrong by most folks got to be the correct way high standards. But I have been doing it for years now and know more that has been doing it too. ;) It may not be perfect to some, but it sure works for me. :D

Been running 3/8LP on 3/8 7T oregon small rims for almost 10 years on and off and will continue to do so. :p

Standard 3/8" bar also? Or is the bar different for LP?

People will say you cant run a LP bar on a 026 too. But being a redneck, you can do whatever you set your mind to.

Was running LP on this wood ported 026. Ran rim set up 3/8 7 too.

The little 142 husky I just picked up runs 3/8 LP and I found a rim/ drum setup available through hl supply. That little saw is surprisingly not as big of a turd as I expected it to be BTW.

3/8 may be 3/8 but neither LP or standard 3/8 are actually 3/8 of an inch. That said, the LP chain does indeed have a lower profile that standard 3/8 chain and as a result the diameter of the sprocket must change to perfectly match the drivers on the chain. With a standard 3/8 chain the centerline of the chain (rivets) are further from the centerline of the drive sprocket which requires a different diameter for the drive sprocket.

I'm looking for a good setup for my 026.
What should I run?
I'm confused.
