Nice score, good luck with it.

The only thing that killed 440 production was emissions. Even after the 441 came out, they started selling 440s again for more than 441s!

I remember that. Sure didn't seem to indicate that they taught the new technology was that great.

I've still never had the chance to run one of the 441cms, but I think I will later today. I'm headed to the home of a friend of mine who bought one a couple years ago when they were still available. He just got a truckload of logs delivered, so we ought to get to have some throttle therapy.

The one I'm building now is actually a 268. I found it at the scrap yard... totaled out at $2.45.
Now you make me feel bad for paying $5 at the dump for my 268!!!
Had to get a piston kit and top cover.
Runs (tried it out for a bit) but needs the seals done,, winter project.
They are sure a nice saw.

Lol.. mine was missing a bunch, but for the money....
My best scrap yard purchase yet was a shindaiwa 360 for 1.45. it just needed a brake handle. Been using it for maybe 5 years for firewood duty.

Side decals are available, just a twitch different than the originals, very nice though.

Anyone know off hand where to grab a fairly good set of dogs for this saw ? E bay has some I'm thinking of going aftermarket on my clutch cover as well trying to keep the price low as I'm gonna keep this as my large tree killer
However I don't want a set of dogs that will be lousy and get bent up. If anyone knows the correct screws would also be a plus one of them is long thanks
