Hey bub. Doesn’t look like you’re measuring the squished portion of the solder in this pic.Squish with a thinner base gasket:View attachment 283574
I think you’re gonna be happy. Your porting and David’s machine work are gonna give you the “Umph” you’re looking for.All back together and waiting for the 1184 to cure. It was pretty chilly today so I am letting it sit over night. Cant wait to see how this thing does!View attachment 283585
She cuts great! Ya did good Austin.Heres the video. I am REALLY happy with how this turned out. Gonna keep the tune fat for the first few tanks. Got some freakin grunt! Dare I say its kinda close to what an OE 50mm 372 (no machine work) feels like torque wise.
Thanks bud. Appreciate itShe cuts great! Ya did good Austin.
Thanks man! I don’t think I’m gonna do a third round of porting on this one. I 100% agree a 2159 is a one saw plan. Enough grunt to get through 24” wood and light enough to do limbing.View attachment 283760
Ported 2159 is a one saw plan........just sayin
R we on round 3 yet?Nice job Austin!
Whats this blasphemous one saw plan you speak of heathen...[emoji1787]Thanks man! I don’t think I’m gonna do a third round of porting on this one. I 100% agree a 2159 is a one saw plan. Enough grunt to get through 24” wood and light enough to do limbing.

No prob! Good man, stop while ur ahead! Lol! It took me 2-3 pistons before i got my 2159 rite. Newbie problems that was. First saw i ground on. Still my favorite, torque for days. And mine doesn’t have any machine work or a TA.Thanks man! I don’t think I’m gonna do a third round of porting on this one. I 100% agree a 2159 is a one saw plan. Only other 47mm that i know of is a stihl 361. But i dont know wrist pin size.....I've been looking for a 47m/m piston tall enough to cut a popup on, Dolmer 6400 has same size wristpin size but I don't know how tall from wristpin to top.
Got a popup in a 357 that gives199 lbs. comp, both my 359s come in a about 180.
I triedStihl pin is bigger.
Dolmar has narrower skirts and .020 lower crown.I've been looking for a 47m/m piston tall enough to cut a popup on, Dolmer 6400 has same size wristpin size but I don't know how tall from wristpin to top.
