If you're looking for a stock replacement Dukes from sawsalvage is a good option.
Duke's is out of the 2100 Performance Piston right now. I keep hitting refresh on the page everyday it hopes they get more in. Almost feel like the old days on eBay when clicking refresh near the end of a bid to make sure you have high bid!

I'm 99.9% done with a 2100 build ( I hope). Carburetor is "trying" to say the least. OEM piston on Ebay has the ring ends on the exhaust side but outside the port from what I can tell. The $40 piston I got from Proline looks well made and has the ring ends in the intake. I read that Husqvarna marked pistons 3 different ways, don't know if ring stops changed with that or not. If someone hadn't given me a cylinder I'd probably have the Dukes P&C kit.

This will be exciting to see. So far there have been lots of great resources for working on these 2100s. Here is what mine looked like last summer when I found it at the dump - even with free dirt packed into the cylinder!

Luckily the cylinder is in good shape, I have replaced the gas tank assembly to get a working rear handle. I have sourced all of the necessary carb mounting hardware, full wrap and have a clutch cover now. I went ahead and split the case and replaced the bearings. No chain brake and I replaced the wimpy pull handle with a D-handle like the one you have. I wish I had the muffler style you have, mine is the top-side exhaust. I may have to modify mine to also have a front exhaust.

Good luck with your build!!
You had a waaaay better start than me. I started with a stripped case and crank in need of bearings that had been sitting in a bucket outside for who knows how long.

The 395 need massaging to work in a 2100?

No, the 395 piston works fine. You do have to remove a lot of material off the base of the cylinder to make up for the difference in the piston pin height. Dropping the cylinder that much you must clearance the case for the intake and carb.

After looking over the 395 vs. 2100 piston situation, I’m going with the 395 slug. Here are a few reasons why: 1) much better windows 2) much better ring pin locations 3) less weight. I am gonna be very limited in a squish band cut because of how much I’m gonna have to cut from the base, but I think the other benefits will be worth it.

I pulled the 2 pistons I have to compare. The thick ring type as well as the thin-ring are both SK.
Thin-ring is about 1mm shorter. Completely different designs.
The standard -ring is pretty worn out so won't get used.
Plan is to use the thin-ring for my build.
Or...sell it on ebay foe $500 and get a Duke's when he gets more 🤣

The piston I have does have some wear on it, I thought about putting it in and giving it a try, but I need to exercise patience and just get a new one. Mine has the kind of racing stripes you don't want... lol
