It took longer put a flat surface on the flange than it did to remove the baffle.

The coil needed a little tlc..


A little solder and shrink wrap..


And being this old and brittle I added a good gob of epoxy to keep the wire stable which will help prevent further cracking.


Alright, it's about time to get back to cleaning parts.

That's usually a must do when those things are that small.
Here's a pic of a 2100 race cylinder that I found online somewhere. I just thought it was a fun example of taking it to the max so I borrowed the pic to share. I think it was backwoodsupply in new York.

That looks like one that Ed Heard posted pictures of years ago. I believe he runs a Wiseco single-ring piston that's pinned in the middle on the intake side.

More progress..


The intake block is resurfaced on both sides.


I used a thin layer of motoseal to seal it tight.

The muffler and cover were too rusty to put back on this thing so I stripped it with acid, hit it with a sanding sponge and gave it a coat of paint.

All for good reason though.. cleaning cleaning cleaning.
Oil pump done with new oem seal...

Recoil assembly cleaned...


And this recoil cover is something special. That's original paint with no touch up.
