Options for bigger/better flowing carb for 660/066?
Also for a 460/046.
What the heck! How about a list of carb upgrades for every saw! Well at least all the most popular modded saws.
Please Include a little blurb about what it takes to fit carb X to saw Y if you would.

A question for Randy…Mastermind since he’s been doing carb mods for many years.

Hda 50 from a 461 rocks on a 361. Gotta swap choke and throttle shafts to keep linkages working, and drill provision for impulse to keep intake boot. Recommend drilling high jet up one size. Voila.

The problem you have is stud spacing. The Stihl 024-066 have the same distance between studs. Some are straight across and some at an angle, but all the same distance apart until you move up to an 880. 024/026/064/066 are diagonal. 036/044/046 straight.

The WJ on the 066 has almost no Venturi in it and an “hump” from an internal fuel passage that can’t be ground out. Unless youre gonna build an intake block for a race carb setup, there really isn’t much in ways of options. It’s an under carbed saw and hence the big intake duration needed to make power.
