I also favor the flattop slender lookThe 85cc cylinder is a power maker.
Feather weight for the power.
Thanks JI ran saws today and brought this one along,it runs very good for not having machine work @jk14 you done a good job
It would destroy the first saw it ported.
I ran it with CR500'S 064 in a rock hard 20" chunk with a 8pin and the same bar and chain on both. Video is loading
Weird how a saw looks to run better when someone else is running it. It didn't grenade either so that's a good thing.
It's tuned on the edge and CR500'S is slowed down to match it,there both at 14kThanks J

It really does run good. Don't give up
Is this the first cylinder you ported?
Yeah its the first that I've put a wheel on and actually made an attempt at widening on the cylinder side . I've hogged out a few poulan 3450/3750's but always stayed clear of the openings on the cylinder end of the port. It's tuned on the edge and CR500'S is slowed down to match it,there both at 14k

I'll definitely be eyeballing that cylinder sometime after it comes back. Whether or not I'll be able to learn is another story. I'm sure this won't be last one that I make an attempt at.Hopefully you can pull the cylinder when you get it back and maybe learn from it
I'll save the cylinder you ported and use a different one, everybody needs the first one they did on a shelf so in 20 years you can look at it and see if you learned anything. I got mine on a shelf,064 cylinder alsoI'll definitely be eyeballing that cylinder sometime after it comes back. Whether or not I'll be able to learn is another story. I believe I ported this beauty in 2001
It is the original cylinder off my 064 I've had since new. Feast your eyes on the one they tumbled me down the rabbit hole.
