What saw out of these would run a 36 inch bar for stumping and large bucking the best the 066 064 or this hybrid?
I don't know that you could tell any difference in them working but the 056 will have more grunt
Looks like the 066 still has the upper hand. Is there more in this saw Jason?

There's always more.
My 066 was 3sec faster with the 32" anybody time it again?

Does the direction the rim is facing make any difference?
on the Dansco rims the tooth pocket is offset, to allow you to adjust the alignment more precisely with the natural chain path from the bar, you want the chain to turn freely with the engine off with no hickups or catches in the rotation at all
also look at the chain from the end of the bar and make sure it isn't bound or tweaked at the sprocket
when they get going everything needs to be right
It is sometimes worth buying an old wide bodied bar with a nice tip in some oddball mount so that you can modify it to more safely run larger sprockets with race chain :)

Would a chain catcher have helped? Not sure how they really work.

I've had them stop it on a dime a few times, and I won't run a saw w/o one. I think I have had to install a new one on every used saw I have purchased, save for one. I bought a little supply of them, but I'm down to one!

Had to replace the one on the 362 also, when a chain the shop put together for me failed! But the catcher saved me from it!

What kind of catcher are you using Mike? The roller on the dogs, or the saw mounted catcher?

Ok. Thanks Mike.
You get the genuine Stihl, or the cheap copy?
