If so why does meteor offer open and closed port pistons for the 46 mm stihl. 034 please explain the reason. This is why i created the thread thanx.
Maybe because there's some confusion somewhere?
I just don't see that style of bottom feed quad port non-windowed piston working with either open or closed port 034.

I only have the windowed version but these pics still show the general whereabouts where the "ear" on each side lands when the upper transfers first crack open...20171219_192527.jpg
And at BDC...20171219_192606.jpg
There just doesn't seem to be anywhere for the incoming charge to get by.

Sure would be hard to feed with the non windowed piston

The windowed piston is definately for the closed port jug. But without grinding some out, that solid piston isn't gonna work in the open port 034. It's made for a bottom fed transfer like the full open 029. I'd use the windowed one in both

May be right i called stihl and they only show one piston wich is open window.this is why i created this thread.i hope i dont look like a dumb ass if he sent the wrong piston for me.

More than likely it would not cool right with a solid piston .More over I've never seen a Stihl 034 with an open port transfer design .Although for reasons unknown to me I have seen the bottom transfers carved out so it's a straight shot into the crankcase .I'm not so certain what that's supposed to do
