I have an adjustable oiler “Kit” you can buy.

The issue is that you need a different clutch drum (besides the worm gear notch it’s deeper), the worm gear, the sleeve and washer, and the pump.

Totally not worth the swap IMHO. You’re only idling at 3000 rpm. So 1/3-1/4 running rpm. It’s not a lot of wasted oil, but it’s your call. I used to feel the need for the PRO oiler as well, but it makes little real world difference.

As for your seal, if it’s leaking around the edge where it meets the case, you could add some sealant and pull a vacuum. It will usually pull enough in to seal it off. Wait a day and run it.
If it starts leaking again I'll give that a try.

Oh, and you need to do the oil line also. Good luck taking the oil line off the plastic pump. The nipple is quite fragile and will break nearly always.

It can be annoying when you go to make a cut and have a glob of oil go flying. I'm not a big fan of the continuous pump on my 9010, or even my 303t. I remember leaving my first saw (poulan 3816) idling for 10min, then started cutting again to find it ran out of oil.

Yea, I've been doing a lot of idling to warm it up and it's an oily mess at the moment.

I tried the 039 carb last night with a 440 boot and couldn't get it to run, must need a kit, so this morning I put an 044 carb I have for another project on it and looks like it will work. I haven't done any tuning, just one turn out on the H and L, but it starts and has good throttle response.

I've got to redo my fuel line because it's pushing down on something when I put the filter on and shutting the coil off. I just did a quick tune and cut without the filter, just to see how it does. After the video I checked the RPMs and it was at 17,600, richened it up to 15,200 and made a cut and it slowed way down. I'm going to wait until I can put the filter on before I go any further.

I got the filter problem figured out and ended up routing the fuel line around the top of the filter. With the filter on it ended up at 16,200 WOT but I might have to richen it up a bit once it get good and hot. Not too bad for a cheap AM cylinder.

Nice! Did you ever end up switching out the fixed oiler to the adjustable oiler?

The 044 carbs are fun on the o26.

But for real world cutting of wood and limbing, I still prefer the 194 carb and boot. The throttle response and behavior is just better IMHO.

It’s nice, however, to flip back and forth when you want to.
