That’s awesome. What kind of tree is that... a big ol’ Cedar?
That was a Sequoia. Their wood isn't that great as 1 to 2 inch rings are not uncommon, very fast growing trees. A friend with a tree service referred to them as "yard weeds".

It would make an awesome table. I’d anchor the round to some plywood or some kind of grid to hold it together while it dries. After it was done drying I’d stain and epoxy one side flip it over pull the support and epoxy the other side. Shouldn’t go anywhere aftet it’s encased in the epoxy.

Oh yeah we have them around here, too... for some reason people think it’s a good idea to plant Sequoias and Redwoods 10’ from their houses... :rolleyes:

A friend of mine has 6 or 7 redwoods planted along his fence, 3’ apart... they are all about 2’ in diameter now and damn near touching together.
