That Hickory looks awesome.
Do you paint the ends of the boards to prevent cracking?

I'm supposed to......haven't gotten to these yet.

My preference is something along the lines of Anchorseal, but anything is better than nothing.

I ordered a mill and it should be ready for pickup on Monday. I'm pretty excited to get it and get to milling. I went with the Range Road 6032 and opted for the 14hp Kohler. I was originally going to go with the 22hp predator but I'd rather have the warranty of the Kohler.

Hopefully I'll have some pics of it put together by the weekend.

That’s exciting, I haven’t heard of that brand before.
Is shipping included in the price?
They can handle some pretty large logs. Your is 32 inch?

You can find their prices online. I think for my needs the mill will be great. I got the mill, a 6' 7" track extension, and 15 blades. I was not charged shipping or freight due to my dealer being close enough to the distribution center that he apparently doesn't feel the need to charge a fee. He also gave me a free hookaroon, 4' peavey, and a mill head cover! I went and saw their previous model, they call it the 50 series, and it seemed well built. I opted for the 60 series bc of the updates they've made and the fact that the 6032 with a 14 hp Kohler was only about $80 more than the 5032 with a 22hp predator and it comes with 19" wheels and 1.5" blades. Even though I talked to three separate dealers in multiple states and they stated that the 5032 with a 22hp predator (the engine is actually badged as a RATO but I'm told it's the exact same thing as a predator) is a great saw for the money, I couldn't find anything on the warrant of the engine other than what Harbor freight shows on their site and it's only 90 days vs I believe 3 yrs for Kohler.

I'll keep you posted. I'm sure I'll be bugging you all quite frequently.

Whatever you can get. Seriously. So many people have bought mills that there are boards for sale everywhere here.
Yeah that pretty much sums it up, there's to be a lot of competition.
Like anything else in the small business world, your business ethic & reputation is your most valuable asset......you have to offer something folks can't get just anywhere.
What do boards like those sell for?
I won't sell them for under $1.25 per board foot, and they should be worth around 2 bucks or better per bf.... if I had more buyers around me.
