Finally got back out to the urban woods to vanquish some more of the dead ash trees that are looming over my friends driveway. The longer they stand the scarier they get. Not my work. Guy moving in out back hired some "tree" guys to cut down five oaks like this.
I talked to my wife she let them use my ladder cause they don't have climbing equipment? And no truck ?
But I get all the wood :)

I started dropping trees for him he's 87 and getting slow
Big fan of the sloping back cut he is
Didn't bother with the face on this one
I wasn't there for this jobby.

Here's some of his work he has lived his whole life here except for the korean war he is a combat veteran.

Today's challenge: Get this hung up red oak down without smashing the propane tank. Four other trees involved, two with significant spring pole action as they're bent but not broken. Took us 50 minutes to get it on the ground and cut into smaller pieces (not firewood)
