Thanks for being respectful and understanding Andrew.
The part number situation is definitely interesting, and like I said, I’d be delighted if these parts would be compatible or even the same.

Always good too see your posts Sir , Yes it would be fantastic if the parts where the same
And where cheaper , and availability was like a candy store

it looks like the SP is semi pro and the CP is home owner

I'm just curious to see if the Stiga 426 is something worth a punt.
Why the 426 and not the 526, when the 526 should be more powerful
without porting, than the 426, given either has a Makita equivilent.
They seem to be the same weight, though not even that is consistent
from site to site.

@wyk luvs working some magic on these little devils

Well am going to get devious, contact some Stiga dealers looking for
base gasket, muffler gasket, and starter cover, just to see how many
moons it takes to get a response.

I can wake up a 420/4300 enough I don't even want to bother with a 50cc saw.
I think Andrew said this was sycamore:

True, but the 426 Stiga seems to be difficult to find, even in eastern europe,
they seem to have a newer model the 545, slightly more expensive, and I
can not find a parts list for it, not sure what changed, but if the advertised
weight is correct at 5.87kg then am not sure I would like
to own one.

I have to admit I like their Alpina-ish color scheme.
And that's another step brother, the Alpina range seem to be the exact same as the Stiga saws in different colors.
Does anyone know if it is common to find an open port cylinder with removable transferes,
asking as the Stiga 466 and 526 both have removable transfere covers and I have no idea
if they are open or closed port, none of the diagrams I found shows or states anything in this regard.

Wow!
A pro Dolmar happens to be 1/2lbs heavier than it same cc class competitors and she gets ridiculed as too heavy for its class.
Out come cheap copies of pro saws and so far only one member noticed the huge weight difference.

You guys are a weird bunch of nutcases , makes perfect sense why I fit in! :crazylick:

To me anything rated under 2kW is not worth using unless it is a true little top handle which is balanced well for occasional one hand operation.

If you had dodgy elbows, then weight would play a big part,
at one time I would have laughed at people talking about the weight of a chainsaw,
but health is everything, and when you don't have it, life is very different.

This is exactly the kind of comments I expected to wake up to, we are an odd lot.

Until someone has one a scale, we have no real idea exactly what the weights are.
Until someone has one of the newer versions in front of them in pieces, we won't know exactly what it is.
So far there's been a lot of talk, but no show. We're waiting on Andrew for the show.

I can feel my body aging with every passing year!
This is why I ain't gonna "do favours" in terms of bucking firewood logs for others anymore.
This right now is the very first time that I have no firewood logs sitting in my back yard waiting to be bucked - I cleared them all during winter vacation.

Instead of spending my own money and wearing out my body and machinery "for the sake of friendship with others" I'll rather spend my time and money doing stuff like this (see attached pictures).
