Speaking of 661's, anyone heard about a forthcoming service bulletin regarding new carburetors being offered for the M's?

I'm expecting there will be a version 2 mtronic role out after the 462 had been globally released. The interesting bit will be if you can retro fit to older generation mtronic saws.

Ok guys I've just changed out the old coil on my 661 to the new supposed improved one and I've still got the of idle bog, so is it possible to remove the solenoid of another mtronic saw and try on the 661? Think I remember somewhere someone telling me that they're one use so as soon as it's removed from a carb is throw away, dunno if this is correct.

My dad picked up a Stihl saw gas tank, cylinder, crankcase but it has slanted fins. And another crankcase, muffler, cylinder, piston, coil and starter but he said this one is bigger. He said he thought the biggest one was an 044. I thinking he got a 10mm pin 044 and a 064 or 066?

Thats right.
Solenoids are only usable one time.

Thanks for the reply! oh well I'll just have to wait for the dealers to be open again. I'll probably just but a new solenoid and get the revised intake boot together, figures crossed it'll be sorted after that and it'll be of for some porting.

Anyone have any tips or tricks in taking the brass barb insert out without destroying the side of the carb.??

Having said that - does it come out easily ?? I sprayed b blaster a few times 24 hours ago..View attachment 101428

Just a follow up..

This is the way I am doing it in the future.. If I use pliers or v grips I will surely mess up the surrounding area
there - it just happens ( cry cry )...

I have a basket case 064 I am gathering parts for. I have a Walbro Wj 69 from a stihl MS660. I changed the diaphragm cover for one off a HDA carburetor to remove the snorkel. Is this a good carburetor for a stock 064?

See the hedge trimmer attachments on the saws I’m wishing I would have bought the 024 and 020avp with the attachments. Didn’t think they were really all that special at the time. Glad I got the 26” bow bar for the 3003 mount stihls even if I never use it.

What is the actual going price on a stihl 070/090? I know it can vary a fair amount but looking on eBay there is no way I’m giving 1900$ for a ratted out saw with no bar.

Wow. That's the saw equivalent of guys who put long tube headers on their stock 305.
He must find the unsuspecting to buy them he has them on there all the time. Bet it’s a hot rod 20” bar on a 35-40cc saw probably with an over sized rim to boot.

Yeah just saying I goofed up saws didn’t run at moment but I’m sure wasn’t much wrong. Could have had them with the hedge trimmer attachments for 50$ each. So two nice power heads and the hedge trimmer attachments for 100$. I screwed up was an 024 super on the one.

Need to save up for another 090 or 070 need milling saws more than hedge trimmers. Just have that wanting everything problem. If I can’t find a reasonable 070/090 maybe and 075-076 so I have two for my double ended grandberg I’m going to end up buying 2 880’s or big huskies, since that’s what they want for a used 070/090.
