We contacted one guy who will come out and do it at your place if you have a level spot and have the older and brackets off already. He did a Case for a friend for $1100
My technician does quite a bit of farm mechanic work on the side. He usually gets $1,000-$1,200 for clutch jobs with no loader in the way. Those can add a ton of work depending on the loader. We split our JD 3020 last month. Had 3 hours labor to split it and replace the clutch. We have a company in Knoxville that will rebuild them or he has a ton in stock. Usually he will do them while we wait or get other parts.

That sounds on par. I wouldn’t want to spend my time trying to figure it out for that price.

I hate when it does that but we move hay so much without plastic we’d lose half our hay by the time it’s fed.

I understand that, The big 535 John Deere thru a belt today after 18 bales. We are not happy!! Had to bale 9 more with only 7 belts. Now to relace the belt. ( hmmm!)

If you are putting in new, dust or baby powder are your best friends. It will let it slide through the rollers so much easier. Can't find any dust here right now, not sure how much more rain came down last night.

It stinks to have belt troubles when hay is on the ground, but it’s not too bad of a job to lace a belt. Just try and shorten it as little as little as possible if doing one splice. If you got to cut out a larger damaged piece then your going to need two splices. If you didn’t have a splicing tool I’d get one.

Yes we have done that when doing a single belt, If possible I like to pull the new one in with the old one if you have at least two people. One to work the pto and one to pull the old belt out.
