Ive had good luck with a modified two jaw puller and a brass hammer and a bit of patience. Tighten a bit, give it a whack, repeat. I try not to heat if i dont have to, dont wanna ruin pawl springs, also dont want to remove them if i dont have to haha
Mine is a cheap one. Can grind arms if needed.

Thats all i did, grind bottom of the feets. Can be tricky onsmall saws, but havent really had trouble on bigger ones

I like using heat and picking up the power head with a rope threaded behind the flywheel so the entire weight of the saw is on the flywheel. A couple whacks on the flywheel nut to protect threads they almost always come. Some harder than others.
