stihl 050av factory prototype ??

Just got word that a good friend of my father had a running stihl 050av given to him. He's not a chainsaw nut, so I was just wondering if anyone has any idea what they're worth? I could probably talk him out of it just don't know what would be a good offer. He's a good guy so I don't want to low ball him but.....?

Is it a factory prototype or a standard issue 050AV. Stihl made lots of 050's
and they never carry a lot of value due to folks wanting it's bigger brother
the 075 and 076.
Pic's would be nice as well to help determine and such value. But usually value
is determined between seller and buyer.

Agreed. Just going by what I was told. Going to swing by there tomorrow evening after work and check it out if possible. Will report back.

isn't the cylinder set up totally different with the intake and exhaust on the same side with the 050?
I have a few 050/51 sitting here, waiting to become parts donors for 076 super projects

I was referring to the crankshaft being a 42mm stroke shaft and installing it in an 066/660 case. Even a 394/395 case would enjoy it.
