Picked up a heavily used, but great running 044. Don't see them much around here. Missing a couple bolts, and may need a new tensioner and av. I'll tear it down, clean it up, and see what's what.
That should be a nice rig once you have gone through it….I have been on the lookout for one for a while.

I sure hope so. We have a lot of work to do, and no more new saws until the bean counters can pull their heads out. Personally buying a couple hopefully good used saws so we can continue making progress. A very tired 441 an old 590 and my ported 590 just aren't enough.

Here's how I use mine, but it has a shackle, not a hook. The rope to pull the tree comes back through the snatch block and to a winch I secure to the tree I'm cutting. That way I can pull trees over and cut the tree, by myself

That doubles the capacity of pull

My older brother Ray (some of you have met him) is badly stricken with cancer and trying to get some items out of the way. I went down this week and brought home his saw collection so his wife won't have to deal with it.

We fit everything in my F150 and my utility trailer.

A friend in town has a big building with a lot of empty space and is willing to let me store the saws there until I can move some things around in my building.

I brought three over to my place as they were already pretty clean, a McCulloch PM10-10, a Lombard Comango, and a Wright B520. The Comango and B520 are already in the display, the PM10-10 will get cleaned up and put out for sale.

Sorry to hear about your brother, Mark.

But I have to ask: does this saw collecting thing run throughout your whole family?

Chinese vegetable knife / cleaver: much thinner than a meat cleaver. About 7” blade (single side bevel); about 9.8 ounces. $16 at a local Asian grocery store.

Experienced Chinese chefs use this for pretty much everything (slicing, mincing, etc., not just chopping), so it’s a bit different than using ‘Western-style’ knives. But fun to learn.

Lots of YouTube videos on using it.

Quick heads-up, if anyone has a Napa nearby check out the Napa-branded welding stuff. My local one was clearing out all the Napa-labeled welding stuff to make room for a different brand so everything was dirt cheap. I got everything pictured for $129 and change!

I'm grabbing the last of it tomorrow, my neighbor with his own personal machine shop asked me to grab everything that's left for him. The gloves, the knotted cup brush closest to the camera and the battery crimper in the box retail for more than what I paid for the lot!

The same deal extends for online stuff, I got two auto-darkening welding helmets for $102! Just make sure the price doesn't go up when you add them to your cart.
