I don't have many worth running great chain on any more.
That’s ok.
I’ll borrow my neighbors. He has a 041 he always brags about. So it must be fast.
But seriously, wait few weeks. I have a 50 cc coming.
Not big, not a racing saw. But better then what I have.
Bring couple friends, I’ll have Mom and dad fire the pit up. Dad doesn’t have long, I’m worried. Be good for him.
Y’all can stay with us. Plenty of room

Also had motion lights installed and all led lights inside
Looks good buddy.
Saw your text, but I was whooped, cut for about 5 hrs yesterday and felt like I had never worked so hard guess I'm a bit out of shape lol.
Now that the barn is finished you can get that pile of chains sharpened up or is everyone hanging out there now cause it's warm :).
Maybe I’ll talk you into helping me with this 460 I’m trying to put back together.
I need some instructions. So I don’t mess it up.
Dang, you still got that :icon_popcorn:.

TTT so I dont have to search as far.

Been reading on grinders tips after buying a ole silvey swingarm for the shop.

Never used a square grinder so having to read every thread I can find on them. Only hand filed and I suked free handing = no patience, then using atop guide I got good with.

Only up to page 9 after 3 days so far. Some dang good info in this thread. Later

I am pretty sure Maddsen's has the operator's manual on their site in a downloadable PDF @psuiewalsh has the same grinder and might be able to help if you have questions.

Does anybody have a better place to buy wheels other than Madsen or Baily’s. The ones I’ve gotten from them aren’t very true and wobble

The Simington 450 with modified swing arm I have is pretty simple to use......and about bulletproof.
What did you modify on ur arm? I've got a 450 with the stock arm but would like more adjustment but like the rigidity of the solid arm.

I bored a hole in the center of the chain holder, then made a offset bushing out of delrin so I can raise, lower, or move the holder forward, or back.

Gotcha! Got any pics? I had thought about milling a slot for forward to aft adjustment but up and down would b nice as well.

Which wheel or wheels? Notice you had salmon on it a few weeks ago.

2nd salmon.
Still got a gray and blue..
Save blue for special purposes.
Still like the salmon wheel. sometimes I'll run a really nasty chain through the round grinder before squaring it up. It takes a lot less re-dressing that way.

Well here was the reason for my little saw sell off.
Silvey Razursharp early one that the first Simingtons came from when they bought the rights to it.
Then Silvey started on another one later on but different from my readings.
Just setting up and learning something new. Hopefully I can pick this up and offer square grinding local. Because I gave up the square file a few years ago. But got me thinking when a local ask me to square a 60" chain for him and I turned it down.
