I figured this would be as good of place as an to post this here.
We got the wife into a 2015 GMC Yukon and just the other day I noticed the passenger side tail and brake light don't work. Upon some research its a sealed LED unit so I need to buy the whole light assembly.
Looking online this seen to be a common problem for the 2015-2018 Yukons. Do you know if that is true? Have you ran into this issue?

I have not but i dont see alot of those suvs specifically. I make my living on all the smaller FWD platform GM SUV's!

As long as you have power and ground to the assembly and the LEDs wont work then the light is bad.

Ed sees these everyday so he would know better than I if they are common failures.

@RedFir Down I have had some lights fail. Have also had harness issues as well.

Is it completely inoperative? Turn, park and stop?

Not sure what year they installed a monitor circuit that will give a failure message on the i/p.

Shoot me a pm and get me the last 8 digits of the vin so I can be sure I get the right schematic for you. There are 6 I think based off options.

Got a call from the dealer on Monday... they aren’t supposed to do the TSB unless the code is showing, but they went ahead and did it anyways. It was (of course) a software update, and a forced regen. I told them to drive it all week (since I’m out of town) to see if the code popped back up... if it does they will do the work under warranty. If not, it’s $165 diagnostic fee, and the reflash and forced regen is included in that price.

I wish I didn’t have to pay anything, but all in all I’m pretty happy with the service at Corning Ford.
400 or so miles and no issues yet.

No worries. Thank you for the reply!

The tail and brake light do not work. The turn signal and reverse light do work.
This is only on the passenger side light, all the lights on the driver side work fine.

That would be great. I looked high and low in my manual for a simple tail and brake light fuse and I couldn't find where it is hiding within the 4 fuse locations.

I sent you a PM, thanks for your help.

I’m not sure how guys claim 20+ MPG in these 6.7 PS Super Duty’s, as it’s all I can do to get 15 cruising down the *frenching freeway.

Haha, I bet if you were closer to 55 mph you would come close to getting there, if you have the instant economy mpg meter, you could do a test. My gas truck gets the best mpg around 35-45 mph, and progressively worse the faster I go. I made at trip up and down hwy 101, really watched the meter and averaged 20.3, according to the meter if I could drive 40mph on flat ground onthe hwy it would get 30ish mpg, but who can do that! Both our 11 and 17 6.7 fords get about 17.5 tooling around unloaded. I managed 14.3 at 70mph for 600 miles with this load on the 11.

That’s weird, my truck has an instant economy and average economy meter that looks like it says average? I also noticed I don’t get as good of mileage on cruise control as I would if I’m just driving it on my own. How much bigger are your tires in stock? I have a landscaping friend, he has an eco-boost Ford and he changed the tires from the stock for apply to 10 ply’s and he lost three mpg

Hows that been treating you?
Other than the cluster lighting..:D
Love it. Handles great and rides awesome.
Only complaint so far is that sometimes I get a sort of studder when it’s cold and up shifting from 2-3. Once and awhile it spikes the rpms a bit when shifting 2-3. I’ve been doing some reading about the torque converter issues these truck were having.
